About the house

Built by a fishing family, run the same way for three generations.

Sussegad House sits where the coconut grove meets the dunes, a short stretch of sand from the fishing boats that still go out every morning. The rooms are plain and comfortable rather than styled for photographs — the point was always the garden, the tide, and the quiet.

We keep it small on purpose: three rooms, home-cooked breakfast, and enough hammocks that nobody has to wait for one. Guests tend to stay longer than they planned.

All rooms include breakfast, filtered drinking water, an overhead fan and AC, and a key to the garden gate — for whenever you're back, however late.

Our largest room, in the original 1968 house. Faces the grove, with a shared veranda, two cane loungers and a hammock strung between the palms out front.
